曲靖市民族中學(xué)是曲靖市人民政府主辦，曲靖市教育局主管，曲靖市民委輔管的一所云南省一級二等完全中學(xué)。
曲靖市民族中學(xué)是一所教學(xué)設(shè)施完備、教育特色鮮明的學(xué)校，現(xiàn)有校園面積33350平方米，教學(xué)班級58個，在校學(xué)生3886人，少數(shù)民族學(xué)生占總?cè)藬?shù)的27%；教職工228人，其中碩士研究生11人，特級教師4人，高級教師87人；校長劉紅被評為云南省中學(xué)名校長，省市級學(xué)科帶頭人、骨干教師、政府津貼獲得者共30余人，省市級課賽獲獎?wù)?0余人。高水平的師資隊伍，科學(xué)的教育、教學(xué)管理，為全面提高學(xué)生素質(zhì)創(chuàng)造了良好的條件。
斗轉(zhuǎn)星移，風(fēng)雨兼程。30余載的辛勤耕耘，曲靖市民族中學(xué)迎來了桃李芬芳、春色滿園的局面。校友們或施才于政界，或弄潮于商海，或獻(xiàn)身于科研，或活躍于文壇，或執(zhí)教于庠序，或投身于軍營，或求學(xué)于外域。近年來，學(xué)校教育質(zhì)量穩(wěn)步提高：連續(xù)五年表彰為曲靖市“高中教育先進(jìn)學(xué)校”，2013年高考600分以上22人，一本率51%，居云南省一級完全中學(xué)綜合排名第21名，榮獲云南省教育廳“一級高完中教學(xué)質(zhì)量評價二等獎”；2014年高考600分以上64人，理科最高682分，被北京大學(xué)錄取，一本率57%，居全省一級高完中高考綜合排名第15名，全省民族中學(xué)系統(tǒng)第一名；2015年高考參考684人，600分以上31人，重點(diǎn)率55%，本科率94%。
學(xué)校堅持多元發(fā)展戰(zhàn)略，先后被評為“民族團(tuán)結(jié)教育示范學(xué)校”、云南省“文明學(xué)校”、“云南省勤工儉學(xué)生產(chǎn)實(shí)踐示范基地”、“全國體育傳統(tǒng)項目學(xué)校”、“校本培訓(xùn)示范學(xué)校”、全國中小學(xué)優(yōu)秀網(wǎng)站、云南省“平安校園”、被定為全國校園足球培訓(xùn)學(xué)校、云南省十大法制校園。2015年6月學(xué)校被評為“全國禁毒工作先進(jìn)集體”。2015年6月25日，校長劉紅參加表彰大會，與其他受表彰的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)一起受到了黨和國家領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人的接見。
2016年9月學(xué)校將搬遷至龍華大道旁的新校區(qū)，新校區(qū)以“一流規(guī)劃設(shè)計、一流校園環(huán)境、一流硬件設(shè)施、一流教學(xué)質(zhì)量”為宗旨，一座園林式、生態(tài)型、數(shù)字化的高標(biāo)準(zhǔn)中學(xué)校園將在曲靖這塊沃土上熠熠生輝，成為曲靖城市建設(shè)的亮點(diǎn)和教育發(fā)展的名片 。

Qujing Nationality Middle School (formerly middle school of Normal college of Qujing) was founded in Sep. 1985 and renamed in Sep 1997. It is one of 100 key Schools in Yunnan province, administered directly by the Department of Education and indirectly by the Committee for Ethnic and Religious Affairs in Qujing. It is one of model schools of moral education in China and one of excellent schools in Yunnan province. There are 228 teaching staff in total in the school, including 4 special -grade teachers, 87 senior teachers and 110 first-grade teachers. Among them, 21 teachers are postgraduates,16 national excellent teachers, 11 provincial excellent teachers and 9 municipal leaders in teaching. There are 48 classes and more than 3886 students in the school.
For many years,the idea of running a school is to satisfy the people, the idea of training the students is to train the students who used to be slow into better students and the aim of running a school is to get high
percentage of pass, high percentage of entering the university, all-round development for students and to promote the schooling feature. A marked advance is made in the quality of teaching every year.In the last
three years,95% of the students have entered the different universities, Qujing Nationality Middle School is in the front ranks of all the high schools of Quing city.The school was awarded the Advanced Collective
of Senior Teaching of Qujing City in 2005,2006,and 2007 in a row.
